From the Principal

Welcome to our 2013-2014  academic year!
Dear Longhorn Community,
Welcome students, parents and guardians to the academic year 2013 - 2014. We are looking forward to another successful and rewarding year for all our students. We look forward to meeting you at all our scheduled curricular and extracurricular activities throughout the year.
As we continue our "Tradition of Excellence", we expect a great academic year. Results from our EOC state assessments show our students have done well, and our campus is expected to meet state standards.  Our continuing efforts of high expectations for all our students along with delivering instruction so that we stress conceptual understanding of key ideas and place a greater emphasis on depth over breadth will allow all our students to attain knowledge and skills needed to be successful at post-secondary academic knowledge levels.
Our goal, for our community of learners and stakeholders, is to provide an educational environment that is safe, secure and nurturing, while providing a quality program of curricular and extracurricular activities. Together we will continue to make United High School one of the best in our city, region and state.
