What is a CBA?

CBA stands for Curriculum Based Assessment and what it does is measure where a student is with respect to the Curriculum and the expected timeline for the STAAR assessments. They are very short tests.  The Benchmarks (BM) on the other hand are full length practice tests that serve as predictors for the real STAAR exams.

Daily Announcements

United ISD held a press conference to announce the 2nd annual prom project.  The project is dedicated to collecting formal dress attire, new or gently used, to make sure all UISD high school students have the opportunity to go to their prom affordably, with confidence and in style.

The donated gowns, suits and ties may be gently used or new, but in good condition.  The UISD Prom Project will continue through April.  You may drop off dresses, suits & ties to United ISD Main Office at 201 Lindenwood Dr., Laredo Texas.

For more information please contact Rosie Cruz 956-473-6331 or Carmen R. Rendon 956-473-6279 for more information.

From the Principal

 Dear Parents / Students,

Greetings to all our UHS Parents / Students! We hope that your summer vacation has been relaxing and rejuvenating. As our 2014 -2015 school year begins, we are planning and preparing with the highest of expectations for continued success. Student schedules are being finalized, our building maintenance has been ongoing, our staff is complete, and our enrollment continues to grow. As we look across United Ave, we see our new Ninth Grade Annex construction beginning. We see our future developing as our neighborhoods grow around our academic complex.
Our preliminary scores indicate that our “Tradition of Excellence” continues to make UHS a leader in academics within our city and region. I commend all our staff in maximizing all our efforts towards our goal of improving student achievement. We are LONGHORN PROUD!
