From the Principal

Mr. Alberto Aleman, Principal

Welcome to our 2012-2013  academic year!

Dear Students & Parents

United High School's 2012-2013 academic year is now upon us.  We are excited about what this school year will bring.  United High School has a "Tradition of Excellence" in Academic and Athletic activities.  We are very proud of achieving Texas Education Agency's "Recognized" academic rating these past three years.  Our excellent teaching staff has high expectations for student achievement.  In every area of curricular and extra-curricular competition our teams had done extremely well.  It is the competitive "Longhorn Spirit" that drives our campus to Excellence!

Our Advanced Placement program had a record number of students achieving a 3 or better in exams taken this past year.  We are committed to increasing the number of students taking these exams each year.  A significant number of our students are taking TAMIU college credit classes at United High School. Many of our graduating seniors have received millions of dollars in scholarship through their hard work and being involved in the community.

Our clubs and organizations represent Athletic, Band, Choir, Fine Arts, UIL and many other special interests.  I encourage all students to become members of any of these clubs and organizations.

I look forward to meeting all our students this year.  Students plan to meet with your academic counselor to ensure you are following your graduation plan and have met all credit requirements.  We invite our parents to take an active part in the educational activities on our campus and to meet our staff.  Together we will ensure a solid educational foundation for our children, our future.

Alberto Aleman, Jr.
