Counselor’s Corner

Attention all 10th and 11th Graders:

On Monday, October 1st, we will begin selling seats for the PSAT/NMSQT.  Seats are limited and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  The cost of the test is $16.00.  Your parents can pay for the exam online at the links provided on this page or you may pay for the test in the Counseling Center with our secretaries, Ms. Hernandez or Ms. Garza.

The test will be administered during the school day on Wednesday, October 24th.

The PSAT/NMSQT is highly relevant to your future success because it focuses on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It’ll measure:

  • What you learn in high school
  • What you need to succeed in college

If you think the key to a high score is memorizing words and facts you’ll never use in the real world, think again. You don’t have to discover secret tricks or cram the night before.

The best way to prepare for the test is to:

  • Take challenging courses
  • Do your homework
  • Prepare for tests and quizzes
  • Ask and answer lots of questions

In short, take charge of your education and learn as much as you can.

Attention all Main Campus Students:

The ASVAB will be administered during the school day on Wednesday, November 7th.  The exam is free.  You may sign up to take the test in the Counseling Center with our secretaries,  Ms. M. Hernandez and Ms. N. Garza.

The ASVAB is offered to high school and post-secondary students as part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is free of charge to participating schools.
